HUTCHINSON – Organizers have planned a special mini-auction for the 50th anniversary of the Kansas Mennonite Relief Sale April 13-14, at the Kansas State Fairgrounds, in Hutchinson.

This special auction will begin at 7 p.m., April 13, at the Bretz Arena.

“We are going to auction a special quilt made by the quilt committee in honor of our 50th anniversary,” Becky Blough, of rural Moundridge, and KMRS publicity chair.

In addition, people will be able to bid to help fund Mennonite Central Committee projects from around the world.

Blough noted MCC sends workers to Africa help construct sand dams, which are considered to be the most cost-effective form of rainwater harvesting and provide communities with a clean and reliable source of water.
