MOUNDRIDGE – The Moundridge Police Department and the McPherson County Sheriff’s Office are continuing their investigation Tuesday, May 22 of an anonymous threat that referenced a possible shooting at Moundridge High School, USD 423 Superintendent George Leary said.

Law enforcement is working on several leads, Leary said.

“There is nothing official to share at this time,” he added.

The alleged threat was made Tuesday morning.

“A student received a vague threat this morning,” Leary said. “They shared it with us.

“The security and safety of all students and staff of this community are of utmost importance to us,” Leary said in a statement made on the USD 423 website.

School was not canceled, but Leary offered parents the option of picking up their student or calling the school office and giving permission for the student’s release.

Leary added if a student left the school, they are not to return to the building at any time today.

If any student has any tips or information related to this case, Leary said they should contact the Moundridge police at 620-345-2777, the sheriff’s office at 620-245-1267, Crimestoppers at 620-241-1122, or the district office at 620-345-5500.
