Harold R. Schrag, 86

SchragSchragMOUNDRIDGE - Harold R. Schrag, 86, of Moundridge, and formerly of McPherson, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, Oct. 10, 2017, at Pine Village in Moundridge. He was retired from NCRA Refinery where he had worked in the de-coker unit.

Harold was born Sept. 4, 1931, in Moundridge, the son of Andrew J. and Lilly (Waltner) Schrag. He graduated from Moundridge High School. On Aug. 3, 1955, Harold was united in marriage to Gloria Faye Stucky, at Eden Mennonite Church in Moundridge. They were married 52 years until her passing July 22, 2008.

He was a member of New Hope Evangelical Church, V.F.W. Post No. 2715, and O.C.A.W. Local No. 58, all of McPherson.

Harold was a veteran of the United States Army and served during the Korean War.

Survivors include two daughters, Brenda Jansen (Richard) of Wichita and Diane Knight (Chuck) of Moundridge; siblings, Beth Schrag of Newton, Robert Schrag (Jompa) of Fayetteville, North Carolina, and Jean Arnette of Shawnee; sister-in-law, Joyce Schrag of Salina; six grandchildren, Branden Jansen, Jenna Pike (Travis), Stacy Gramza (John), Nathan Knight (Jennifer), Ethan Knight, and Chelsey Knight; and three great-grandchildren, Charlotte Pike, Logan Gramza, and Claire Pike.

He was preceded in death by his parents; wife; daughter, Linda Lou Schrag; and brother, Joel Schrag.

A graveside service with Military Honors was held Friday, Oct. 13, at McPherson Cemetery, and a memorial service followed at New Hope Evangelical Church, in McPherson, with Rev. Jim Keil officiating. 

Memorial donations may be given to New Hope Evangelical Church or Moundridge Senior Center in care of Stockham Family Funeral Home, 205 North Chestnut, McPherson, KS 67460.

GALVA – Rebecca J. Becker, 60, passed away Monday, Oct. 16, 2017, at Mercy Hospital, in Moundridge.

She was born Feb. 11, 1957, in Moundridge, the daughter of Ervin and Lola Unruh Ratzlaff. She was a member of Lone Tree Mennonite Church, in Galva. She married Dilwyn Becker on Aug. 21, 1977, at Galva.

She is survived by her husband, Dilwyn of Galva; son, Troy (Twila) Becker of Galva; daughters, Lori (Aaron) Decker of DeRidder, Louisiana, Melissa (Josh) Schmidt of Isabella, Oklahoma, Kayla (Gene) Lehman of Dalton, Ohio; sisters, Mavis (Gale) Becker of Hume, Missouri, Deanna (Jeff) Giesel of Louise, Texas, Geraldine (Merrill) Rempel of Galva; brother, Randy (Roberta) Ratzlaff of Galva, and eight grandchildren.

She is preceded in death by her parents; and a grandson, Rylan Decker.

Funeral service will be at 10:30 a.m., Thursday, Oct. 19, at Lone Tree Mennonite Church, in Galva.  Burial will follow in the church cemetery.

Memorials may be sent to Mercy Hospital, in care of Moundridge Funeral Home, in Moundridge.
